Silent Signs

Last night I went to a show that could only be described as surreal. DeYarmond Edison had their CD release show at the Masonic Temple downtown, and the setting couldn't have been more perfect. The Spaghetti Western String Co. opened for them. They're from Mpls. and consist of a mandolin, cello, violin, banjo, guitar, and some amazing classically trained vocals that can sing the hell out of an Italian song. They were certainly a treat.

Then DYE came on, surrouned by (electric) candlelight and lighted by a Masonic shrine at the back of the stage. They played for a solid hour and a half, and pretty much ran the entire gamut of emotions in the process. By the end the crowd literally jumped to their feet to show their appreciation. These guys are the heart and soul of Eau Claire music, and they will surely be missed.

Don't be a fool and miss their last two show, tonight and tomorrow night at the House of Rock. You should also purchase their new CD, Silent Signs. It is excellent.
