Urge to kill...rising...
Stupid stupid people at the Registrar's office. I get a letter in the mail today:
***WARNING! YOUR GRADUATION IS IN DANGER OF BEING CANCELLED! PLEASE RESOLVE ANY CONFLICTS NOTED IN YOUR DEGREE AUDIT BY OCTOBER 12TH TO AVOID CANCELLATION***
Hmm...I was pretty sure I straightened these people out last time we went through this...I guess not. They still had me down for not satisfying a requirement that I had the neccessary paperwork in for 3 weeks ago (despite it being a requirement I shouldn't had to have done in the first place). That's OK though, I realize things take time to process.
But the thing that irks me is this: It was under their impression that because I took a semester of Symphony Band (this is freshman year, people) concurrently with a section of Marching Band, then the Symphony Band credit cannot count towards my 7 required large ensemble credits because of its concurrence with Marching Band.
I ran across this problem last spring, went to the Registrar, and told them that, if this is indeed the case, then they should have a steady stream of Music Education majors in their office every freaking semester with the same problem. The lady just stared at me and told me to work it out with my department (even though my audit shows the requirement satisfied!!!!) So today I sped down to my advisor's office, and he left a message with the registrar, so things should be cleared up (knock on wood).
Other than that, life is grand. Tomorrow night is parent-teacher conferences, so I get to tell parents how wonderful their children are. Should be fun, plus we get free food. Score.
