Really feel like an Old Man

Holy cow, I can honestly say that I had forgotten what shoveling a foot of heavy snow feels like. I don't think I've done that kind of shoveling since PMA cleared out Dr. Dossin's driveway on that one snow day when I lived at the house...and this time I didn't get apple juice and cashews after!

It was an interesting weekend of winter weather, and only one of my orchestra concerts managed to get canceled, and on the one that did happen, there were definitely more orchestra members than audience members. Oh well, I still got to play the Hindemith Symphonic Metamorphoses, so I'm happy.

Unfortunately, the snow came a day early, so it looks like I'll be headed to work tomorrow. I think the strategy to combat my disappointment is to be overly cheerful to the students who will be more disappointed..."Welcome back! What a beautiful day to be in school"...and so forth.
