Application Overload!!!
Holy crap, the internet is a scary thing.
I have filled out many, many online job applications in the last few days. They are exhaustive! They ask you everything and then some. It's no fun sitting down with your transcript and calculating the number of semester hours you have in each area of your certification...whatever they meant by that.
On the plus side, this means that there are jobs available. I think I remember applying for jobs at:
Spring Lake Park
Norwood-Young America
Centennial
Shakopee
Lakeville
Roseville
Farmington
Blaine
Anoka-Hennepin
Out of those, 5 were an online application. While it's nice to not have to fuss with the paper-work, it seem a little more impersonal. Oh well...hopefully I'll have a chance to get personal with some of these schools via interview. From what I hear, the Spring Lake Park job is gone, and it's been awhile since I applied for the Norwood gig, so we'll keep going down the list! More openings pop up every week. But man, applying is a pain. It used to be that you could just send a cover-letter and resume, and give the principal a phone call. But now you have to fill out extensive applications filled with pointless information and vague essay questions. Thank God I'm good at spewing out an essay, and that we had lots of practice in college (yes, those Ed classes were good for something!)
I think I'm going to go scan all of my pertinent credential documents so I can zap them into all of these online apps. Weee!!!

Right on about everything...except the ed classes being good for something. I happen to know there will be a job opening in the Dover-Eyota. It's only .5, but if nothing else works its something.
