Waiting by the phone...
A job hunter's most hated sentence: the position has been filled.
I'm starting to see it in some of the positions I've applied for. But, I'm not getting too down! Here are some theories:
1) The MN Educator's Job Fair was on April 26th. It was only open to graduates of MN colleges. Just because I went to UWEC, the state of Minnesota denies a prodigal son an opportunity. Curses!!!
2) It's the beginning of the job-hunting season, which means that all of the fancy-pants teachers with "experience" are sucking up this first batch of jobs.
3) People who are job hunting and not working full time have more time to harass potential employers.
4) People are afraid that, since I've been working with Catholics, I've got God on my side now, so if I don't like their kids/school, I will have them summarily smited. They better watch their back...I might talk to some people who know some people, get the Pope on the phone, and they'll be sorry.
So now, I sit and wait for the leftovers...and leftovers can be delicous.

Hey Pat,
Just keep bugging them, that is what I would advise. If you call up a school and ask if they recieved your applicaiton, it immediately goes back on the top of the pile. :) Don't fret about not having anything right now, I recieved four or five calls in July in August for schools that had not responded to me earlier (of course it was too late by then.) Sending a letter of interest is also a good idea, I sent out 20 some letters to schools that were in the location I wanted and I recieved replies from several. Just a few thoughts for you, good luck.
