Like a jumping bean

Man, I've been on edge today waiting for the phone to ring. I got a call at 4pm while watching TV that made me jump about 10 feet into the air. I crawled down from the ceiling once I realized it was only the bike shop. The good news is that my bike is fixed. The anxiety-inducing, hair-pulling, nail-biting news is that I haven't heard anything from Minnetonka yet. Now, I wasn't expecting a call today, but then again, the only time frame I have is "some time before Friday." And when I have the day off (and the next day off), that gives me a lot of time to fritter away waiting for my phone to light up.

But, let me take my mind off of jobby-type things for a second. I know you all love baseball as much as I do, so ponder this for a second (or quit reading if you don't care). The Twins have won 16 of their last 18 games, and are 10-1 in their last 11 games. In this span they gained a whole 1/2 game on the Tigers. WTF? In the last 11 games, the Tigers, Twins, and White Sox have a combined 30-2 record. That's just soul-crushing. Mauer is flirting with .400. Liriano hasn't lost a game since he left the bullpen, and all the other players are doing what they're supposed to be doing. Yet no improvement. The Twins will go down in history as the best 3rd place team ever. Sigh...
