Rockabye Baby!

So a few weeks ago, Alison and I were at our local Half Price Books. I was at the register checking out, when my ears perked up. I heard the sounds of vibraphones and glockenspiels, but what they were playing was even more familiar. I say out loud, "Is this 'Today'?" Sure enough, what I was hearing was a rendition of the well-known Smashing Pumpkins song, featured among others on this album:

If you click on the title of the post, you will see albums of this nature have been done for many artists: Radiohead, Tool, Zeppelin, No Doubt, Green Day, Bjork (Bjork?! That would surely give any child nightmares). What a way to tap back in to the grunge/alt rock crowd of the early 90's that are now having lots of babies, and their parents who are having grand-babies.

I bought the Pumpkins and Radiohead albums with an iTunes gift card, and honestly, the arrangements are well done, and the music is quite soothing --perfect for this rainy Friday.
