Adult Pretend Time

Coming up is by far some of my favorite 2 days of the school year...MMEA Convention. Sounds incredibly dorky, I know, but I really like it. I get to take 2 days off of work, spend them in the wide wide world of downtown Minneapolis, hang out with other music teachers, hang out with other ADULTS, eat real food for lunch...oh, and learn a bunch of teaching junk, too.

Granted, the vendor booths aren't as good as WMEA (no cheesecake), but it's still freaking sweet. Also sweet is the fact that it's held on President's Day Weekend, so say hell to 5 days away from school for this kid.

It gets even better. Today, I teach one class then I'm off to supervise children at a theater. Tonight is the Bon Iver in-store at the Fetus. On Saturday I'm volunteering with my co-workers at Habitat for Humanity. I'm really bad at this whole manual labor, build things with your hands sort of thing, so I'll probably be the guy who gets people hammers and nails and stuff. Should be fun.

What kind of work are you doing with Habitat for Humanity? It seems pretty cold to be pouring concrete :)
