Last chance to see...

Folks,

Never again will live music in Eau Claire be anything like it is now, and will be for the next few months. There is an expiration date on the music "scene" here, and I'm afraid it's approaching us sooner than we'd like. I just found out a couple of days ago that local heroes DeYarmond Edison are packing up and heading east to North Carolina in attempt to make something of their incredible talent. I have no doubt in my mind that they will be wildly successful, and at last I will have someone to live out my rock 'n' roll dreams vicariously through. They are heading out in August, so catch them while you can!

As a result, local rock gods Amateur Love will also cease to be. Not only are the Cook Brothers of DYE also members of A-Love, but word has it their lead singer is headed to Chicago to pursue greatness, which I am sure he'll do as well.

Knowing this, we could do two things. We could find a dark corner to cry in, wonder "why does this have to happen?! Why me?! Why now?!?!" OR, we could cherish the time we have left, and make the most of every show between now and then.

I choose the latter. Will you do the same? If you do, I suggest starting at the Stone's Throw this evening for the WHYS benefit concert. Both DYE and A-Love will be there, along with otehr great bands that as far as I know of, aren't leaving anytime soon, leaving a ray of hope for live music here in this secluded little burg.
