Livin' on the Golden Crumbs...
Man, every Ike Reilly show is an absolute blast.
The Ike Reilly Assassination played tonight at the Stone's Throw, and I'm pretty sure that this is the first packed house the Stone's Throw has seen since their new management took over. It never fails that you always manage to run in to the oddest people at an Ike show. First there were the two identicallly-dressed groupies who shoved their way up to the front, blew kisses at Ike, and proceeded to ignore his music and try to draw attention to themselves. Then there was the stoner who for some reason felt the urge to lunge his way to the front, hang on everyone in the process, and get shoved back. Then there was the short girl who kept stealing drinks from my friend Chris's beer bottle, and also trying to draw attention to herself by waving her hands in everyone's face. Other than that, most everyone else there was really into the show and was having a good, raucous time.
I have a feeling that tonight will have been the last crazy, suds-soaked night of the summer (even though it was one of the first as well). On friday I have a seminar for student teaching, then I head to the Cities for my sister's wedding. On sunday I'm headed for the Great Minnesota Get-together, which will bring me to monday, my first day of student teaching (gulp), and the end of life as we know it. I couldn't be more happy.
