Tea? No thanks, I'll have a beer...
After coming back to the Eau C after some time off, only to find out I have more (unwanted) time off, I needed to find some way to fill the void. So yesterday I traveled down to the Coffee Grounds in EC, and lo and behold, after 4 hours of work (with some help from experienced brewster Phil Dorn), I am now on my way to 5 gallons of Porter. It's sitting in the basement now, and should begin fermentation tomorrow. That should take about a week. Then bottling will occur, and given another 2-3 weeks for carbonation, we will have (hopefully delicious) beer.
I'm trying to think of names for my beer, and am willing to take suggestions. So far, the ideas for the first batch to come out of the Old Man Brewing Co. are as follows:
Basement Porter
Henry Hastings Porter
Hastings Basement Porter
Old Man Porter
Hastings House Dark
As I said...suggestions are welcome. If I take your suggestion, I'll give you a bottle of the stuff for free. Only catch is that you have to drink it, no matter how it turns out.
