Back in the saddle
So tonight I went to the south metro to audition for the Dakota Valley Symphony. I played Rochut #42, Willaim Tell and the Tuba Mirum...I have never been serious about studying excerpts, nor did I spend too much time working these up in the week I had to get ready. But, I channeled my good musical sense, and the conductor had no problem with my playing. Plus, the orchestra right now is sans 2nd and bass trombone, so they stuck me on bass for the Messiah. Overall, I think this group is probably on par with Chip Valley, maybe a bit smaller string section (although it seemed like many people were gone...this is a volunteer group). I don't really care...it's a chance for me to get my face back on the horn, and for that I am grateful.
This weekend I am going to get a membership to the local YMCA and I am going to stop being un-fit.
Next weekend I shall conquer France.
